Step 1) Disable hooks as explained here.

Does the problem go away?

YES = It's a conflict with mod. Disable them 1 by 1 to figure out which one

NO = Go to Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Check

Do files come back that say "Does not contain the expected contents?"

If YES re-upload the original vBulletin files for your version, overwriting the old ones.
