Keep main body centered

How do I set it up so that my main body remains centered no matter how big the window is?

I want to put an image in the margin but when I do this I want the main body of the page to be centered. If I change the margin to auto the page gets centered but the image is show in certain spots in the body which is what I don't want. If I set the margin to a specific size then the page is centered based on the margin and body combined.

Please help
