Safe to move images and avatars from the database to the filesystem?
 

Hi,
I am looking in to some server optimization and i am thinking of moving the avatars, user profile pictures and attachments from the database to the filesystem.

My forum had over 2.5 million posts and 13.000 members.
I have the following questions:

Is this safe? Did anybody experience any problems doing this?
What is the best procedure to do this?
How long will it take approx.?

Change xxxxx to your site name

Path of the image file this file should symbolism movement Waco readable and writable by your network provider (usually give permission 0777)

permission 0777 Folder customavatars

Then press go

Thanks, i understand the procedure and found that moving option in the admincp. 9that is why i asked this question).

But i asked a few more questions. Anyone have an answer or some tips for me?
