[DBTech] Threadmins and Group Moderators v2 (vB4)

1 Attachment(s)
Threadmins and Group Moderators is a moderation enhancement for single users (who can receive permissions to modify their own threads, or single threads and social group discussions) as well as allow for usergroups to be set as 'group moderators' and allow the users in such usergroups the same moderator permissions.

Uses
Threadmins and Group Moderators is a self moderation system that allows threads to be moderated by the user that created them. Users can be given permissions to edit, delete, sticky, open/close or be immune to such actions. Also it allows users to be assigned as moderators to a single thread or to a single Social Group discussion and allows usergroups to be assigned as moderators to forums.

Neat, but how would this actually be useful? How would YOU use it?

sticky 04-25-2012 11:09 PM

Genius

Is this compatible with moderation auto-pm?

This is from my post on DBtech:

This could be of use just for the fun of it (I have forum called authormoderator, but users need to ask real moderator to do moderating actions, so this is our way-around).

Or, you could have special usergroup that pays you to advertise something on your site. To this usergroup you could give right to also moderate its thread(s). If you have successful community with lot users, there would be those willing to pay to have threads they could moderate and advertise whatever they want advertised.

And last idea for possible usage, you could give this privilege to people you appreciate, or who write about interesting subjects, so they would have control over their threads and thus stay on your site and not go to someone else's. We all know that content is what brings people to our sites and that people makes content. In this way we could have trump we could use to lure those who have something to say to our sites and keep them.
Actually there could be other uses, but it all depends how YOU want to use it.

Anyway, original post is here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/f101/...oderator-6113/

I myself think that this is great mod, with numerous possibilities, but we all need to get creative and start to think about our users as possible moderators, of course, supervised with our real moderators. :)

No, it isn't. Because this gives ability to user to moderate threads, but it doesn't make them moderators in sense that they belong to this usergroup and become real members of your stuff.

So they shouldn't get notified if someone report thread, or post. :)

for this mod, can i set sponsors/advertisers to only moderate threads in their particular forums? for example i want them to be able to moderate their sections, but not their threads on other forum sections.

Alan_SP 04-27-2012 11:45 AM

Yes, this is how it is done in free version, you choose forum, you choose which usergroups have which moderators actions in that particular forum.

It is a pro feature that you have certain usergroup which could moderate their threads everywhere.
