Noob needs Help :( I'm so confused
OK, so here's the deal..
I am a little out of my element here. I'm a Systems/SAN Engineer and have very little experience with code or websites. I'm not sure how this happened but I believe I have broken First page access to our forum. I wasn't the person who initially set up this site. I inherited it after purchasing it. OK to the meat of the issue; Roughly 3 weeks ago something changed and for the life of me I can't figure it out. What used to happen was one would enter www.texasnissans.com and would hit this page: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2012/03/14.jpg The logo was a link to http://texasnissans.com/tx/forums If you type in www.texasnissans.com you now receive this: I have verified that the enterlogo is still on the server. I have viewed the index.php to see if there is any place I can recreate a redirect from the Logo page to the forums. I can tell you that if you go to www.texasnissans.net, www.texasnissans.org or http://texasnissans.com/tx/forums you hit the correct page. We as a forum have decided to install vBAdvanced. I have two test sites that I am working on that appear to be working properly. I still have a lot of work to do on these test sites like page links and final page layout. They are http://demo.texasnissans.com and http://test.texasnissans.com If anyone can provide me with so much needed advise and education I would truly be grateful. Thank You Mike |
Looking at the dns, I find that .net and .org go to a different ip address than .com, are you sure it's ending up on the same server?
|
Yes, they are on the same server. The IP's are different because they are being forwarded from GoDaddy to texasnissans.com/tx/forums
The IP address you are getting is GoDaddy's. Thanks for the suggestion |
OK, but I think that answers that question - .org and .net are being redirected to www.texasnissans.com/tx/forums, but www.texasnissans.com is not so it just shows what you have in your root directory.
My guess would be that there used to be a file called index.htm in the root directory (if there isn't one, it will display the list of files like you see), and that it was just a static html page with that image and the "Enjoy the ride" message. |
