Changing codes for smilies/bold/underline etc to automatic

Have searched but can't find out how to make the smilies/bold/underline etc show up automatically whilst posting rather than just the codes?

Was hoping someone would direct me in the right direction once again?

TIA

Enable the WYSIWYG editor.

Admin CP > Settings > Options > Message Posting Interface Options, change all three to Enable Standard & WYSIWYG controls.

To have it selected as default for new registrations go User Registration Options > Default Registration Options, set Message Editor Interface to Show Enhanced WYSIWYG Editor Toolbar.

To have it selected for you, go to your User CP > General Settings and set Message Editor Interface to Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing.

Thanks so much for replying! :)

I have gone in and checked all three are set to 'Enable Standard & WYSIWYG controls', which they already were. So that is done.

And, have checked that the default for new registrations is set to 'Show Enhanced WYSIWYG Editor Toolbar' which is all good too.

My problem is that when I have gone in to 'General Settings' to change the selection for me I can't find where to change it to 'Enhanced' is it definitely on the General Settings page or am I just blind? lol

So doing all this will make adding a :) bold underline etc automatically show up when typing a post, rather than the codes? Yeah?

Sorry for the confusion. ;)

Yeah, it's right there under Miscellaneous:

Yup, that's right.

So sorry for bothering you again but I can't find the 'Miscellaneous Options' on the General Settings Page, I am either really blind or really stupid. :o

I don't know how I can make it any clearer, sorry.

If you go to your User CP > General Settings, press CTRL+F on your keyboard and start typing "Message Editor Interface", your browser should find it on the page for you =]

Don't worry, we all start somewhere!

Have worked it out now  Just worked out that I had to go to my own personal settings and change it there too. Thanks again for your help ;)
