how do I display the value of a variable in headinclude template?

this is my plugin hook at global_start (but I also tried to global_setup_complete)

Code:

function AD_Open($type) {

$result_AD=$db->query_first("SELECT css from mytable WHERE id ='$type'");

$csscode = $result_AD['css'];

return $csscode;

}



$dom_css = AD_Open(2);

in headinclude template I put $dom_css but is empty
why?

Are you sure the query is working? Maybe try setting $dom_css to a constant and see what happens (maybe you already tried that, based on your question in the other thread).

Sure that the query works, is just one example, and the plugin is active, the query is not the problem!
i have vBulletin v3.8.7 Patch Level

but the result is the same, in headinclude template $dom_css is empty!
