Show ban reason in Notice

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,

This mod allow your banned users to create a Ban appeal thread, Obviously you will need to set the permissions yourself to suit your forum population.
I have tested in 4.x but haven't got any screenshots of it unfortuantly but it defiantly runs smoothly in it. The screen shots are of 3.x

Instructions ~

Upload the xml file as a new plugin. Modify your Banned Users group to allow them to View Forums. Modify forum permissions so Banned Users can only see the forum(s) you want them to see.

Now create a new notice and specify that it be shown to users in the Banned Users usergroup. I suggest not making it dismissable. In the notice text, you will enter {bant} where you want the ban time to be placed, and {banreason} where you want the reason to be placed.

You will have to allow the banned usergroup to view the forum, or you will keep getting the stock ban error message coming up.
Please Mark as Installed if you are using this :up:

EDIT #1 ~

As some of you guys are having problems wording how the perm bans work, where it says "Never" I have decided to write out my ban script which should help you re-word it, or of course you can use mine !;
Quote:

You have been banned for the following reason:
{banreason}
<br>
<br>
Date the ban will be lifted: {bant}
<br>
<br>
Please note that when cautioned or temporary autobanned you are NOT permitted to create a new account for the period of the caution/temporary autoban. Doing so will result in an extension of the punishment.
<br>
<br>
If you wish to appeal your ban please use the "Appeal your ban" forum located under the Help section.

Hello there, useful option :up:
But there is one issue:

I use the {bant} like that:
...
You are banned till {bant}
...

But if i do so and a user is permanently banned he reads

You are banned till "never"

this is of course unlogical.
Any idea to solve this problem?

I'll look into this in the morning and try come up with a solution. You could always change your own wording to You will be unbanned {bant}
