A Better Notification When PM Folders Are Full
 

I need to a better notification for members when their PM folders are full (because I am reducing the number for regular members soon. I tried to do it this morning but suddenly regular members complained of not being able to PM anyone because so many members had over-full PM folders). Currently the only notice is buried at the bottom of their My Messages page in the Control Panel, and all incoming messages bounce until the member happens to notice it.

I either want a Notification/PM (if PM, then one that obviously is an exception to the limit) in the "Notifications" indicator in the topBar (in header) at the top of every page.

Or a conditional message in the Welcome text that appears under the Navbar.

Anyone know of a mod that does this or can whip one up? Is there a template conditional to test for number of PMs vs user's limit - If so I could go the route of a prominent notice in the welcome box, but I am not aware of any conditional that checks for this kind of thing.
