Forum Permissions - Not sure if I've got an issue or not?
 

Hello everyone, I have a problem where I would like to allow my "unregistered/logged out" group to view thread titles but no content. Now, from my searching, I have selected: "Can View Forum" - Yes & "Can View Thread Content" - No... but when logged out the sections appear "private" under "last post" and when selecting the sub forum no threads are visible within it? I've defaulted the permissions a couple of times now and played about but I either make everything visible or everything private, nothing in between. Is there a cache or something I need to wipe to change this? Any advice would be appreciated.

Any advice? Okay. Let guests read the threads because if all they can see is titles they aren't going to stick around long enough to get interested.

Later, when things get popular, you can try the Limited Guest Viewing mod to nag or block them after x views.

Do you have Can View Others' Threads set to Yes? That allows them to see the thread, but Can View Thread Content set to No will disallow them to actually see the contents.
