Limit article content of RSS feeds

You can set up RSS feeds to add new threads to a forum. I would like to set up RSS feeds of a few news sites but want to limit the number of words or characters that is posted in that thread. With the current vB settings, it posts the entire article from the RSS feed.

Is it possible to limit the characters/words some other way?
