Swapping over to a new domain....any steps?

Hi all, i have a 3.7.3 at tropicalfish.site5.com/tfc/ I have bought a new domain at tropical-fish-centre.com . My web host say thats very simple to transfer a domain (they are on the same web host) but as ive never done this before, im not sure - has anyone else done this? And are there any steps on how to do this? Im hoping it would be simple just to do such a thing?

Any info would be great, thx.......

Ive searched high and low, apparenly its quite simple - simply re-change the links in the admins area and refresh cookies.......just wondered if anyone has attempted such a thing, and it really worked out?

There are two places if memory serves in the database that need changing!

Thx, any chance of letting me know what you did?

If you aren't moving the forum to another server or copying it over then these steps are all you need:
To change the URL, do the following (ex vbuelltin.com:

- Close your board from the AdminCP
- Change the Forum URL to the new URL
AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Forum URL
- Reset Cookie Path & Domain to default values:
AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Cookies and HTTP Header Options

Next Move all the files to the new directory on your server, and re-open board.

If you are copying it or moving it...etc then try looking in the 'setting' table (bbburl varname) and also search for bburl in the 'datastore' table also and change the first URL after that in the text.

I think I would simply just set the new domain to forward to the old one.
