Facebook "Like Box"...now whats the best way?

I'd like to add the standard Facebook "Like Box" to our site. I've searched and found several ways to do this with older versions of Vbulletin. But we are not running 4.1.9 Patch Level 1.

What would be the best way to do this now? Is there a mod or widget? Do I just add the code?

Hello,

you can try a widget.

look at http://allround-board.net/content.php the right sidebar. Do you want this box or a simple "Like"-Box?

What they have there is fine...I just don't want the "HTML Facebook" at the top.

Okay, removed the titles from my static html template.

When I insert the iframe code, I just get a box with "Go to Facebook.com" in the middle. What am I missing?

Do I need to load a separate plugging to run iframe in a widget? I'm finding some other posts that state this...but they are old posts. Different with VB4?

You must create a facebook-developer-account. Then you go to Website-Developer -> Core Concepts -> Social Plugins

There you find the code. This code can u paste in your widget (HTML).

Okay...I feel silly now. I was going it write all along...just had an issue with my Facebook id number.

Doh!

AND...another weird thing. If I'm logged into Facebook as my "page", then the like box just displays "Go To Facebook.com". But when I log out of my "page" and back as myself, then everything works fine. Does this make sense? I know this isn't a FB support area...just thought maybe someone else has seen the same thing.

Hey Dante,

this is a bug from facebook.

If i use facebook with my normal account, i see the facebook comment/like-box. If i use facebook with my developer-account, there nothing to show.

But its only for you than, so dont worry, all others can see it :)
