Showing BB codes in the create new topic window?

I'm very new to all of this forum business so please go soft on me.

I was previously using SMF before vBulletin and on SMF when you created a new topic/post in the window you had buttons.. It's hard to explain so I'll include a picture:

I have also noticed this forum also has the same feature.

How do I get this on my forum?

You need to set your default to the WYSIWYG editor under Settings > General Settings.

The only place I could find such an option was under "user registration" ?

I've also found this:
"Message Posting Interface Options"
Enable Clickable Message Formatting Controls
This global switch allows you to completely disable the message formatting toolbar and clickable smilies.

But they're all enabled to the "WYSIWYG editor"

I'm talking about your *own* settings. Go to your Forum, see the Settings link in the upper right corner? Click that and then General Settings on the left and then near the bottom of that page you will see the option.

The one under User Registration is to set the default for newly registered users. You may want to set that to WYSIWYG also.

Ooh now I understand.

I'm guessing I don't have the WYSIWYG editor as my user was imported from an SMF database.

Thanks for all of your help!
