Need Help - Urgent

Hi all,

I just switched hosting companies yesterday and got the servers all set up. Now, today I am getting hammered with database error emails:

Database error in vBulletin :

mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'droidtec_forum'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
/var/www/vhosts/default-domain.com/public_html/includes/class_core.php on line 314

Can someone PLEASE help me! The forums obviously do not work at all.

Looks like, offhand, you do not have your database set up correctly on new host.

I assume you copied all you vb files to the new server. Did you edit your includes/config.php file to use the new database information?

Edit: Max beat me to it...

Yeah, I edited the config file, but it still isn't working. Does it take some time to refresh it?

Edited with what editor?

notepad++, then re uploaded through FTP to the new server.

If you had it all working with the new database yesterday and now you're getting that message today, you may need to contact your host about it.

class_core.php on line 314

What's there? Try commenting it out.

Breakthecycle2 01-07-2012 05:47 PM

I don't see a line 314. Only goes to 194?

kh99 01-07-2012 05:54 PM

Line 315 is the one that opens the database connection. It seems pretty clear that the error is that the username/password you have configured for the database isn't working for some reason.

Is it possible that when you go to the site you're actually still going to the old server? It does take time for a domain name change to take effect. ETA:...or maybe it looked like it was working yesterday because it was still going to the old site, but the new site was never really working?
