Upgrading Registered users to a private section of the forum

I've been researching how to do this but I have not found anything concrete.

First off the general forum is free to everyone but there are certain sections where I don't want the free users to have access to unless they purchase a product.

What I want to do is automatically registered users to a private section of a forum but not all.

This is what I mean if a person purchases a product and I want to give them access to a vip section. Is there a way to do this by them using a code in the registration link?

If they already a member to go to as a vip member.

I don't want to use a payment api to do this because the product will be on clickbank most likely

I really appreciate your help
I hope this makes sense.

I'm curious if anyone had a chance to point me in the right direction on this.

Thanks

Can't you use subscriptions to set that up and forum permissions for the forums part of it?

I can use forum permissions, the problem is I have a free and a private sections, So the Paid subscriptions I can't use since none of what I'm using are listed for payment method, unless there is a way to use the subs without setting up the payment part.

If not I'll post it in the paid unpaid section I appreciate the responses :)

Thanks :)

We have a VIP Area for Paid Subscriptions, But the way we have it set up is by User Groups, So New Registered Users can sin up and see the Basics, When Payment for VIP Area is ever received via Pay-Pal, We then Change their user group to Full Member ( or whatever you want them called ) to give them access, The same way Mods and Admin User Groups are set up. But everything is done Manually and Not through Paid Subscriptions. We have about 5 User Groups set up this way..

Ok icc I figure you could it that way, I just wanted a way where I send them a link after purchase and the user gets upgraded to the group.

I guess the only option I have is to pay someone to make the code for me. If not I'll manually do it but it can become a pain when it's part of a product launch hehe.
