Ermm Help please?

Hi, I'm trying to edit my FORUMHOME template but everytime I try and save I get an internal server error within the AdminCP.

I suspect some incorrectly CHMOD'ed files on my VB install. Can anyone give me a list of the files and what CHMOD they need?

Or I might be completely wrong so please post what you think.

I suspect mod_security or suhosin - are either of those installed on your server?

FWIW, on a normal vb install:
Quote:

directories should be chmod'd to 755 (-rwxr-xr-x) and files to 644 (-rw-r--r--).

I've already done the .htaccess to fix any issues that might be caused by mod_security. All my directories are 755 and files are 644.

Nice, I wish everyone could provide one of those. Anyway, have you tried instead to insert some short word or phrase or something just as a test?

Just tried putting simply the number "1" and saving it, unfortunately I got the same error.

So you do have mod_security installed? And how about suhosin? Try disabling them and see if you still have the same problem.

Ya that does look like some kind of security. Is this a dedi or shared server? I mean, if you have tech support there have you contacted them?

Noslo 01-01-2012 05:35 PM

I bought the hosting from "hdwebprovider.com" I'm assuming it's shared. I've raised a support ticket asking if they have any of the above install on their servers.

Is there anything else I should ask them that would help determine the cause?

Just tested all templates and everyone can save fine but FORUMHOME gives me an internal server error.

Possible CHMOD error somewhere? Can someone advise me? Thanks.

Is there anything in your servers error log? If you don't know where they are, or don't have access to them, contact your host.
