Thread on home page
How do I take a certain thread and use that for my front page on my website? I would like to use 1 designated thread and use that for my front page use similar to macrumors.com and mmo-champion.com. How is this done?

I suppose you could use an .htaccess file to redirect all traffic from yoursite.com/index.php to yoursite.com/showthread.php?t=xxxx
very confused on the way you described this? Does it look like these are the methods those websites i mentioned use?
I was just going by your description "take a certain thread and use that for my front page" and I posted how to use a thread for your front page. Those sites just look like they are using some sort of CMS and putting several articles on the main page.
so use a cms portal and put it on my default html layout? is there a tutorial for this?
I do not know of a tutorial, but you are welcome to search through our articles forums.
I'm saying it right though correct? I basically need to find a way to put cms articles on my front page as news like i want to?
Is there some reason you don't just use the CMS itself?
lynne; this might sound like a dumb question, but can the cms be designed to look like a regular website? transparent blocks and make everything nice n pretty?
Sure, if you know your CSS and html. I've seen some awesome looking sites.
