how to remove this? mywebsite/forum/forum.php comes up if you click to go back to the forums once your in the forums.

i just want it to stay as /forums

Go to Admin > Settings >> Options

Then select from the drop down menu "Forum home Page Options" and edit there.

i don't think that is it? i want it completely removed so its nothing more than mywebsite.com/forums

i don't want any addition after that.

you would need to move all files from the forum folder to the root folder in your ftp then update the url settings
