News Notices in CMS

I would like to see a News Notices mod to publish News Notices short messages not more than a sentence or so.

Preferably with Comments. and would be shown in a widget.

Something like...

US trucking recovery slows to a crawl in November

And users could comment.

No need to have the whole article system for this?

Does this sound bad to you guys?
