Hi friends;
We have some problems in our forum. For example, we can see the topic but we can't see the content about topic. In our site there was attachment faults. We tried to repair this problem and solved this problem. Then it started to give another fault (detail is below about problem). I can see the older topics and contents. I can see the new topics' names but i can't see the contents. How can we solve this problem? Thank you for your interesting. Code:
Database error in vBulletin 3.8.4: |
Mysql has gone away is a server related issue and you should contact your host, was that the entire database error?
What templates or files did you edit to fix the attachments issue? got a site link? |
Is your postedithistory table large? Maybe it's taking too long to optimize and causing a timeout. You could skip optimizing that table or if you don't care about saving all of the post edit history, you could use "Prune Post Edit History" under "Threads & Posts" in the adminCP.

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.4: Best regards. Quote:
Data Length Index Length Overhead postedithistory 64.0 KB 16.0 KB 0 I used Prune Post Edit History. After this process it gave me an message " No Post Edit Histories Matched Your Query ". But my problem is still keeping on. ( for instance there were 19 messages which were written about the topic but when i clicked the topic, i can't see these messages. This problem is not existing in older topics. The topics which were opened in a year, this problem is existing.) Best regards. |
Your last repair and optimise issue si still relating to the issue i posted, trust me, speak to your host with regard to what i posted :), after a failed repair/optimise a file gets left behind TMD it is this file (and no you cant see it in your files) that is causing your issue, your host needs to delete that file for you and then perform the repair and you should be set :)

Thanks for your interesting. Which file should i delete? |
You cant delete it unless you have a good understanding of unix and ssh commands, ask your host to look for post.TMD and delete that - MAKE A BACK UP FIRST!!!!!!!!
After they have deleted the file then ask them to perform a repair and optimise, if your post tabel is large it will take quite some time, my post table is almost 2gb and takes 7 hours to repair and optimise on a dedicated server! |
Thank you for your attention. I've talked to my host this problem but unfortunately he couldn't find the file which you have talked. I think i work with novice people :) Could you say me where can i find the file? So i can tell my host how to delete the file. And which panel (phpmyadmin or vbullettin ) should host do the repairing and optimising?
Thanks again. |
it will be inside your sql file, you should use ssh command to find and delete it this will help http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=302527 and this is a tutorial http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/..._searching.htm the tutorial should be read first as it explains how to find a file...etc
