A few funny errors!

1. The time is set to UK time but it isn't correct? can i reset the time correctly?

2.When i click "new posts" the thread and view count are all wrong - it will say "0" replies even when it has some?

nerbert 11-17-2011 06:08 PM

1. That's for users to set individually.

2. Somewhere in Options there's a setting for whether views are updated immediately or on a schedule.

can anyone tell me where? thanks

i know for a fact a lot of these threads have 100's of views but on show 2?

It's exactly where you would expect to find it!

Settings > Options > Server Settings and Optimization Options > Update Thread Views Immediately

But .......

"Option to update thread views immediately, or once an hour. If you have a large forum, you will probably want to disable immediate updates, since they are quite server intensive."

imk 11-18-2011 04:23 PM

some threads have been there weeks and have had 100's of views but it shows "2"

?

Not sure what the problem is. You might look at Maintenance > Update Counters.

If you've recently upgraded there are some maintenance steps you need to do.

Boofo 11-18-2011 05:43 PM

What maintenance steps? I just upgraded and everything is fine with no maintenance steps.

His forum was upgraded with a patch version, not a full upgrade, by the way.

nerbert 11-18-2011 05:53 PM

When I upgraded from vB3.8.x to vB4.1.5 there were instructions about rebuilding counters and things like that.

Boofo 11-18-2011 07:49 PM

Yes, then it would be advisable. But he upgraded within the same major version so that wouldn't apply to him.

so any suggestions? I've rebuilt but nothing changed!
