Members choosing to 'hide' a forum
 

I would like to put a forum up on my board that will be quite controversial. To keep people happy, the solution I've decided on is to allow my members to choose to "hide" this section with an option (check box) somewhere in their profile.

Yes, I know that we can hide a forum by default in the admincp but what I really want is something that allows people to 'opt out' vs. havin to opt in via usergroup/promotion. Collapsing the forum isn't an option either since I know members are going to complain that they can see the forum header and they know what's in there.

If anyone has any good ideas, or knows of a plugin I missed that might do the trick as is or with some modification, I'm all ears!
