Add background = New Style?
I'm noticing more and more folks coming up with new styles by doing nothing more than adding a background image, nothing more.
May I suggest to any of those reading this that do such, at least come up with some custom status icons to go with the large background image that made the style. You would be surprised how many different free icon sets there are on the internet. Didn't mean to offend anyone but come on. Just a little more effort will make your "custom styles" actually custom. (to a small extent) Thanks |
If it wasn't such a pain in the gazootenblatz to change them more would. Trust me if it was a lot simpler I'd change all of mine.

I noticed with vB4's new stylevar system, some designers are putting less effort into really customizing their themes. With vB4, it's easier to make basic changes to the layout and colors, but it takes more work to do advanced customization. This has resulted in a flood of themes that are basically the default theme with just some stylevar changes.

I'm not a coder thank you very much. I have to work with what I have in front of me. I can do a lot but not to the same degree of the more advanced coders.
HTML makes me scratch my head a lot. PHP and JS are light years over my head. MYSQL? forget it... |

Sorry, my bad. I'm trying to quit smoking and I'm not doing real good right now.

I'm thinking to myself right now, what if some of us in the vB family got together and collaborated on doing styles? What is one persons weakness is surely someone else's strong suit. I consider myself an 8 out of 10 on doing graphics.
Is this something that sounds like a good idea? |
Excellent idea.

I run a baseball fand site and I will be the first to admit I know nothing about coding or designing and what not. I pay to have my work done and being on a modest budget it's tough to get what I really want designed to get done.
