v3.8 corrupted? ""showthread.php?s=4b2c963d9bacb8012..")
Hi chaps,
I'm running V3.8, and I just generated a sitemap - I noticed a lot of rows like this: <url> <loc>http://www.myforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=47594</loc> <lastmod>2011-10-11</lastmod> <changefreq>monthly</changefreq> <priority>0.8</priority> </url> I've never seen this kind of URL before associated with the forum, and it brings back a 'no thread specified' page when I use it. Should I be worried? |
There is no sitemap feature in default vB3.8 so I'm not sure where this is coming from.
|
I'm using Xenu to crawl and generate, but it's not Xenu. Now I look I can see these bizarre URLS coming up in my server log files now. Here's another example
[30/Sep/2011:13:12:59 +0100] "GET /forum/images/statusicon/thread_moved.gif HTTP/1.1" 200 1179 "http://www.mysite.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=4" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5 GTB7.1" |
I don't see anything wrong with any of what you have posted. That line from your access_log doesn't look weird - someone is on a page and is grabbing a gif. What do you find wrong with that?
|
Odd. It gets cut out every time I try to post it.
Immediately after the forumdisplay.php? there is a parameter that starts "s=edb6d120..." and goes on for 32 chars in all. That's the bit I've never noticed before. |
That is just the sessionid.
|
Thanks for your time, Lynne.
|
The session id should never be appended to the end of a url, that would be a bad thing.
|
Maybe that's why vb doesn't let you post it ;)
|
Is a problem then? Or is it OK? I'm out of my depth here.
Coincidentally (or is it..?) my site went down an hour and a half ago. The hosting company are now running an FSCK on it. |
