need help with roll back

i need to restore an old backup of the site, only serveral days old before i installed 4.1.7 as it has caused more trouble than its worth, can someone please point me the right way on how to do this as i want to downgrade, i have a backup in my cpanel, thanks

What version did you upgrade from ?

4.1.5 patch 1

Not to be a pain but since downgrades aren't officially supported I can almost promise fixing whatever issues you may have with 4.1.7 is going to be easier than going back to 4.1.5. I thought maybe you upgraded from 3.8 or something like that.

However, note that if you roll back all the contents acquired from the time of the backup until now will be lost.

To revert back you will have to restore the database backup and overwrite your forum files with those from the old version.
