Vb 4.1.7. upgrade (weird issue)

Hello all, firstly i want to thank you in advance for trying to help.

Okay so i'm on 4.1.6 ive upgrade from vb4.0.2 to 4.0.6 ect ect till i went to 4.1.6. just trying to let u guys know ive upgrading plenty of times. all folders i have renamed. i put back to default. example admincp is back to admincp. modcp ect.

then i uploaded all the vb 4.1.7 files except config.php.new i deleted that. so i could leave my old one.

when i go to www.mydomain.com/install/upgrade.php i get an error file not found.
even though i see it threw ftp

same thing when i go to mydomain.com/install/install.php

i have no idea how i get "no file found" when its right their in ftp.

anyone else with this issue?

any ideas on what to do?

thanks again in advance.

If you can see it in ftp but not in http then clearly the addy is incorrect. Unless you've got some sort of odd redirecting going on you just need to check the addresses.

Certainly " www.mydomain.com/install/upgrade.php" would not be normal. Unless maybe you had installed in root at some point.

your saying http://www.mydomain.com/install/upgrade.php would not be normal? thats how i usually do it. my url is www.highclassmods.com not /forums just .com

i have vps threw urljet think they would have something to do with me not being able to upgrade?

Are you sure you've uploaded your install folder to the correct location?

Code:

public_html/install/upgrade.php
OR
Code:

httpdocs/install/upgrade.php
Should be your path to your upgrade file via ftp. I can't think of any other reason that would throw a 404 error, other than it not being there....
