why on login this
 

why is it every time i log on my site the url looks like this http://yoursite.com/? 36487368376478364782 and it will not let me post in shoutbox or a thread until i click on the logo then it looks like this http://www.yoursite.com/forum.php??

That is because you probably are entering your site via yoursite.com instead of www.yoursite.com. You should add an .htaccess file to your site that redirects all non-www traffic to www.yoursite.com. You can google that or search here for it as it's been posted many times.

where exactly do i add that code in my htacess?

I put mine at the top, I don't really think it matters where it goes per se... as long as it's in the .htaccess file.

one more question i have a few .htacess files due to vbseo which one is the one i want to do this to? thanks

I would assume the .htaccess file that resides in your forum's root/ that's where I did my edits at. :)

If your forum is: domain.com/forum/ then it be: domain.com/forum/.htaccess
If the forum is: domain.com/ then it be: domain.com/.htaccess (That's how mine is)
