Recommendations on a VPS or dedicated server.
 

I need some recommendations on a VPS or dedicated server.

Here are the current stats on my site.
Disk Space 15.5 GB
Bandwidth – 220 GB a month
SQL Database – 1.3GB

What kind of server do you recommend? Can you recommend with who? Preferably someone on the west coast (US).

My budget is $60 to $90 USD a month.

<a href="http://www.servint.net/" target="_blank">ServInt</a> is the best as far as I am concerned. They have servers on the west and east coast and their prices are very good for all you get.

I'd suggest going with www.Wiredtree.com they have great network and their service is very good.
Plus it's fully managed and their tech support answers within 15 minutes...even at 3am @ night.

I looked at them before I went with ServInt. ServInt CS is the best I have found, 24/7.

I was told by one provider that I needed a dedicated server because my SQL Database is 1.3GB. Is that true?

That's big for some but not all. I know my host would get thier knickers in a twist if mine was that big. Are by chance your images included in the DB? If they are you can reduce that bloat some by moving them to the file system.

No. You should be fine with a VPS.

well I am biased as I have my own hosting (in sig ;) ) But really you should check out webhostingtalk.com and check out some different companies. it is always a good idea to research a few first. :)
