Where's this mod/hack?
 
I can't seem to find it cause (obviously) I do not remember it's name.

It goes like this:

It's for unregistered/not logged in users when they visit your site. After a specified amount of clicks, or I suppose by running time as well, a screen pops up notifying the guest something to the effect of:

You cannot view the site any longer unless you log in or register

Remember search bots are guests also. If you limit the amount of content in that manner you limit what they can look at.
