"Unregistered Usergroups"
I'm very new to vbulletin.
I believe I may have messed up my usergroups. I change all of the default usergroups in the usergroup manager instead of using custom usergroups below it. I have a gaming site and I have specific sections that I'd like to give permissions to specific groups. Well..I believe I have done this correctly, but in doing so saved over the settings of "unregistered usergroup". I assume that was one of the default groups. I checked by logging out and I was able to see the entire list of forums whereas I'd like to make it to where people who are unregistered cannot see any forums. Can I go back and fix this? Thanks |
By default unregistered users can see all your forums, they just can't post in them.
To change this in Admin CP go to "Forum Permissions" under "Forums & Moderators" and in these you can set custom permissions in each forum (or category) for each usergroup including Unregistered / Not Logged In. You should consider through that blocking guest access to a forum also blocks a search engine from indexing it- so if you block too much content you will have very little indexed by Google and the others. This could prevent new members from finding your site when searching. |
Got it....thanks Bird....
