huge customization work
 

ok, i know probably this one is too big, i guess there is a lot of work involved, so i don't relly expect you to give me a full technical explanation about this issue but i hope you guys can just give me some hints so i can figure out the best way to start thinking about this issue:
i was requested to modify the personal profile page so each user can create (and manage, edit, delete..) up to 6-8 additional content boxes, each showing a small picture (much as an avatar size) and 3 data records, very short (like name, code, size) i think the best solution would be to build some more db tables linked to the userid (and of course a form for data and picture uploading) but i wonder if that's the best way or maybe it's easier to do something else, maybe working on some existing mods... i don't know... does anyone have some ideas about this issue?
i know guys it's something i should probably pay big money for, i'm just trying to put my best efforts in this work, and i learned so much here so.. any hint you can give me is most welcome!

First do a search for the various profile mods available and actually try some of them out, even if you don't plan on using or keeping them. Most don't even bother modifying the database, as you can usually use your built in Custom Profile Fields to achieve most goals. A few edits to some memberinfo templates, and you can probably do most, if not all, of what you're trying to achieve.

I did some tinkering with them and designed my own YouTube video block as well as a Twitter feed, both of which also happen to be available as mods already. It was just fun trying.

thanks for suggesting the main steps... i'll try to do that for now and eventually i'll post about how the whole thing is going on...
