how to change the welcome message on my index page!

hey guys how do I change the welcome message to say kh-mediaflare.net forums and welcome to kh-mediaflare.net? reason I want to do this is because I want it to be like this site has it (aka kh-vids.net) here a snapshot of there welcome message.:/

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/09/63.png

I want it to look like that but with my forum name, however, everytime I try to change it under edit templates/FORUMHOME and hit save and go back to my index page the welcome message that was there vanishes and only the forums message is there,:/ so how do I change the welcome message PROPERLY so that it doesn't vanish when I save it and return to my index page?:confused:

This is the code in the FORUMHOME template that outputs that text:
HTML Code:

    <div id="pagetitle">
        <h1>{vb:raw vboptions.bbtitle}</h1>
        <p id="welcomemessage" class="description">{vb:rawphrase welcome_to_the_x, {vb:raw vboptions.bbtitle}}</p>
    </div>

So, you could either edit that or edit the phrase/settings.

yes I know that that's where I change it but what I don't know is what part of the html code I need to change to make it work, so far I've tryed to change the part that I've highlighted inh red....

div id="pagetitle">
<h1>{vb:raw vboptions.bbtitle}</h1>
<p id="welcomemessage" class="description">{vb:rawphrase welcome_to_the_x, {vb:raw vboptions.bbtitle}}</p>
</div>

but every time I save the changes and return to my index page the welcome message vanishes in other words it's completely gone except for the part that just says forum.:/

This - welcome_to_the_x - is the name of the phrase. You would edit it in the phrase manager. You would not just change the name there because, as you've seen, it just removes it.

Search in phrases, replace with a translation.

You could use "Search in Phrases" to search for welcome_to_the_x (Search For Text = welcome_to_the_x, "Search In..." = Phrase Variable Name Only). When you find it, press "Edit", then enter a new phrase at the bottom and press "Save".

The first line comes from the options, in the adminCP Settings, Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Forum Name.

The other thing you could do is just change the lines to read the way you want it to, like:

Code:

<h1>kh-mediaflare.net Forums</h1>
<p id="welcomemessage" class="description">Welcome to kh-mediaflare.net</p>

I guess the downside to the second way is if the phrases are used any place else they won't be changed.
