vb.org Archive - Splitting forum up into sections

I was wanting to split my site up into two distinct sections and adjust the Forum tab links accordingly and don't know how to do it without impacting SEO etc.

I have:
Category 1 (general forums)
- Forum 1
- Forum 2
Category 2 (eg Speed boats)
- forum 3
- forum 4
Category 3 (eg Sail boats)
- forum 5
- forum 6

What I want to have is the ability for the user to click a link for:
Speed Boats - Category 1 and 2 are shown
Sail Boats - Category 1 and 3 are shown

There are some mods here that have tabs etc that will do it but they impact Search Engines so any "natural" solution would be a great help or if a mod is needed then which one...thanks
