First screenshot
Links on the "view entire blog article" page: blockrow_link_color (and blockrow_linkhover_color for the hover colour)
More link problems: control_content_color (and control_content_hover_color for the hover colour)
Standard blog text colour: body_color (will change the other default black text; would be better to change the background colour of the blog).
Links on the blog page: link_color (and linkhover_color for the hover colour)

Todays date in the calendar on blogs: Styles & Templates > Search in Templates > Search for Text: background:rgb(255,255,200) > blog.css > Click "Find" and change the "background:" variable to the colour you want it, then save.

changing blockrow_link_color, control_content_color, body_color and link_color does not effect the blog page the body color is actually rgb(204, 255, 255) which is consistant throughout my board except for the blog and comments for some reason

changes did not alter the navbar either.

okey so that's weird. I went to post a new blog post and the comments etc all come out as the right color (i.e the body color)

I will look into the other problems now

In regards to that white gap, check out postbit-lite.css

I have the following:
