Forums section abbreviations "prefix"

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to add an abbreviation "prefix" to a forum subcategory? An example of what I mean:
Let's say you have a few categories titled "iOS, Android, webOS, ..." and under each one of them you have "Apps, reviews, tips, ...". Is it possible to add "[iOS], [ANDR], [wOS]" to the subcategory?

Another example would be:
Main categories:
-vBulletin 4.0
-vBulletin 3.8
Under each one you have:
-Hacks
-Styles
What I need is:
-[vB4]Hacks
-[vB3]Hacks
-[vB4]Styles
-[vB3]Styles

The reason I'm asking this is because, I'm using "VSa - Advanced Forum Statistics" hack and under the subcategory column you see "Apps, Apps, Apps, tips, reviews, tips" but you don't know which belongs to which section  Or for the second example "Hacks, Hacks, Styles, Hacks, Styles":confused:

I thought about it and it would be very helpful if you can add prefix to subcategories, just like threads :)

Thank you for your help!

Why not just call the forum [vB4]Hacks instead of just Hacks? Or, rewrite the modification to include the prefix based on the parent forum? I don't know the mod, so if you need help with rewriting part of it, the place to ask for help would be in the modification thread.

First and for most, Welcome back :)

Second, where are my giftS :D

Lets forget about this for now, and lets go back to my previous issue with the blogs large images please :)

About this thread, the issue for me right now is how can I do it. Meaning, creating dynamic prefixes for sections titles.

Btw I'm not that good with php programming :(

Thank you and Welcome back!

I'm actually not back. I've decided I like it too much here and have just settled in for now. But, I do occasionally have some time off from playing and get around to posting. :)

I think you would have to write some code that would basically say "if the forumid is x, then add [vB4] in front of the forum title. Or, if the forumid is y, then add [vB3] in front of the title" I would guess that you could do this in the plugin that puts together the information in the first place. What hook that is is something you should either look to find out, or ask in the modification thread about.

That sounds great :)

I will try to write some code and posted as soon as I'm done for opinions.

Thank you!
