New Login location?

Can anyone please explain to me how to get my login location to look like this?

http://forums.macrumors.com/

I LOVE the look of that and it works so much better while having the advertising on the top link similar to that site aswell. Any help would be awesome!

Jeff, I thank you for responding, however i can't seem to get it to work correctly on my test site.

I've been able to add the code and it lowers the sign in, but it doesn't put it below the navbar.

I've been reading a lot of people asking how to put it in the navbar, i've been able to do that, i just want to create a whole new field UNDER the navbar, not IN it. at macrumors.com/forums it shows the signin under the navbar and has the "forums" on the left side. That's what i would really like the location of the login template to be. Then, after login it would show:

Welcome, XXXXX!
You Last Visited: XXXXX
Private Messages: Unread X , Total X

Is this better asked as a paid mod?

Try this one:
Code:

.toplinks {
        position:absolute;
        {vb:stylevar right}:{vb:math {vb:stylevar padding}*2};
        right: 140px !important; /* changed by andy added */
        top:212px;
        font: {vb:stylevar header_font};
        text-align:{vb:stylevar right};
}

See attachment. Replace Jeff's code with this one. Save and reload. Every time you change a value, save and reload. If you have a solid color or an image for the category and forumrows and set yours to move down below them it will go behind them and not be visable.
I forgot to mention that when you log out your log in will appear in the same position the toplink was in.

The log in at the link you posted is the 3.8 series default.

Well, i've just tweeked the alignment and i've managed to push it down to where i'd like it. However, now i don't know where to start to get it to display login info like this:

User Name: then a box. remember me button here

Password: Then a box. Login button here

So basically two lines for login, then after login i want it to display:

Welcome, XXXXX!
You Last Visited: XXXXX
Private Messages: Unread X , Total X

Three lines.

Ok, so i haven't received much feedback. I went onto his page and looked at the html file and this is the code i was able to get off of the page. I'm pretty sure this is the code to allow you to have the look and items that forums.macrumos.com has.

Please review and if anyone is able to tell me where to put the code, i'd greatly appreciate it. Also, what do i have to change to make it work on my page. :)

Code:

<table class="tborder" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
<tbody><tr>
        <td class="alt1" width="100%">

                        <div class="navbar" style="font-size:10pt"><a href="index.php" accesskey="1"><img class="inlineimg" src="http://cdn.macrumors.com/vb/images/misc/navbits_start.gif" alt="" border="0"></a> <strong>MacRumors Forums</strong></div>

    </td>

    <td class="alt2" nowrap="nowrap">
    <div class="smallfont">
        <strong>Welcome, <a href="member.php?u=xxxxxx">XXXXX</a>.</strong><br>
        You last visited: Today at <span class="time">07:49 AM</span>

            <div><a href="private.php">Private Messages</a>: Unread 0, Total 46.</div>

    </div>
    </td>

</tr>
</tbody></table>
