Enhanced Online Users Module for vBa CMPS

The purpose of this module is to provide users of vBa with the capability to either exclude or inclusively include the users that belong to one of the usergroups specified in a list of usergroupids.

Tested on 4.1.3 only. It should work on other vB4 versions, but I make no guarantees. I will try to offer some support for those versions if necessary; also no guarantees.

History

Initially the suggestion came from ReCom on the vBa forums (more). Specifically, he was searching for a way to exclude banned users (which means users who had been placed in the banned usergroup) from the vBa Online Users module. I added the ability to not only exclude specified usergroups, but to also do the opposite: to include only those usergroups that are specified in the usergroupid list. This is similar to other vBa modules/vB plugins.

What does this modification do?

Enables an administrator to either exclude or inclusively include a list of usergroups. Note that no other changes are made to the default Online Users module that is included with the vBa CMPS package. For example, the Online Users module is paired with the Buddy List module, and that capability remains unaffected.

In version 1.1, I have incorporated Boofo's spider mod with his permission. Note that with this inclusion, installation of the spider mod is now a requirement prior to installing the vBa Online Users mod.

Requirements

• vBadvanced CMPS (available from external site only)
• Spider mod (as of v1.1)

Installation

• Remove default version of Online Users module via vBa CMPS admin
• Import onlineusers.xml into vBa CMPS

  vBa CMPS -> Download / Upload Module -> Upload Module

• Add Module to vBa page

  vBa CMPS -> Edit Pages
