Move the Tag Box above Quick Reply
 
For some reason on 4.x Internet Brands decided to move the Tag Box after Quick Reply. I have Similar Threads enabled, so thread tags are virtually hidden at the bottom of my showthread template. I found the code for the tag box:

However when I move it from its default position, after:

I can't figure out why it's showing the popupctrl dropdown and top button in the tag box header, and I can't seem to find the code in showthread that controls their placement. Ideally I'd like to have those two items display inline, to the left of the inline mod tools dropdown:

However if that's too complicated I'm willing to settle for having them not stuck inside the Tag Box header.

How do I do this?

I try it on my default style and it works, so hope it works for you as well. Css inline is not the best way, but in your case it's the best I can do.

Jeff, thanks for the help. I can code CSS but the theming system in vbulletin is too verbose even for my brain to handle. No markup highlighting!? I used the formatting you gave, which required some tweaks. The end result is I can get the tags box to display correctly, so long as there are no tags in it. As soon as I add anything, my formatting gets messed up (it creates a space between the header and body div for the tags box).

I'm doing all the edits on a test child style that's not user-selectable. However I believe you need to register in order to see thread tags.

Ok I will try to not talk about the fix here but firstly if you are looking for someone help, you should prepare the following
- your site url (if you can't public it, you can PM).
- address your problem
- and a username/pass for test account if needed, even an admin account if you are looking for help from developer to their mod.

I'm more than willing to help but vBulletin.org is a community so if you are looking for help, then try to be nice.

I've done a bit of re-arranging of the elements on several pages of my site, and there are a couple of tools that make it a lot easier to debug things.

Get Firebug which is an add-on for Firefox that helps you isolate elements on a page.

In the ACP>Options>General Settings>Add Template Name in HTML Comments
set to 'yes' while debugging so you can see how the templates are nested using 'View Source'.

Edit: Wow, that is a very complicated part of SHOWTHREAD, even in the default style. Several nested templates. You'll need to pay very close attention to the opening and closing DIV tags to keep it sorted.
