All new registrants get banned email message
 

I'm having a problem where new users fill out the Registration page, then get the following message:

"The administrator has banned your email address. You will need to change your email address in order to continue. If you think this is done in error, please click here to contact the administrator."

But when I go into the CP and select "View Banned Users", it is empty.

I tested this myself, trying to create a new user, and also received the message. Any ideas on what is going on?

Go to the Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> User Banning Options

There is a box for banned e-mail addresses... See what's in it- copy and paste it here if you want we can see if there's a problem.

Under banned email addresses, I did find that gmail was listed. I assume this list created by a previous administrator of my particular forum, correct?

"Banned Email Addresses" listed below. It seems a bit too excessive (yahoo and gmail seem odd to me), though our users are usually associated with universities, so I assume the previous admin wanted to cut down on the massive spammer via gmail and yahoo:

yeah that's a big list... by default it's blank so someone had to add them all. Delete whatever you want.

What's most unusual is blocking ALL eu, uk, info, and biz domains. I would limit the whole list to just ru and cn.

You really should start your own thread, as this is four years old. Make sure you provide as much info as possible as what it is you want to accomplish.
