can you downgrade from a v4 to v3
 
can you downgrade from v4.1.3 to v3.07

i have been thinking of running a older version of vb3 as i have some things id like on my vb forum that i cant have on v4 at the moment i am having some work done on the site and it would be a good time to get this all done at the same time if i can so was thinkin this maybe the way for me if it can be done that is or cant it ?? ? . .

if it possible to downgrade and not loose any data/pics members ect please let me know

Yes, you can downgrade to vb 3x from 4.1.x in several ways. The easiest way is to revert to a backup you have from the vb 3x version. But that means you wil loose all the posts, threads, members and all the other data that were acquired from the time of the backup and onwards.

Another way would be to convert to another forum and then convert back to vb 3x. You might loose some settings in the way like passwords, attachments, pms, permissions etc.

A third way would be to study the db changes between the 2 series and roll tables back manually but that is an extreme difficult task. Or you can write a custom script that can do that.

The biggest issue with downgrading from what I've seen is the attachments. That would be the main issue you would run into. You may be able to use Impex for it as well.
