Markdown Support

Anyone know if any plugins exist to use (optionally, of course) Markdown instead of the standard bbcode?

Anyone else want it?

I had never even heard of "Markdown" before:

It's really common among developers, since working with plaintext is a lot easier than working with WYSIWYG. It's a lot more readable than bbcode.

Interesting... I got a simple setup working... need to clean it up, I will post it here later today or tomorrow.

If anyone wants to further develop support they are free to do so, both versions are marked "Re-Usable Code."

Awesome, thanks! I think for it to 'go smoothly', it would need to be per-user. I might take a look at extending what you have to tackle it.

I find it really useful for stickies or any type of article / documentation post, but not necessarily entire forums.

Cheers

Gotcha... that's probably more of a pain then I'm willing to deal with on a mod I'll never really use so I hope you can adapt it to your needs.

No problem! This gives me a major head start, and I'll be sure to credit you if I do end up releasing anything.

Thanks again. :)
