members viewing threads in restricted area
 

Hello!..

i have some of my forums hidden or restricted from some user groups but i am noticing some strange activity for two to three days that many members are viewing threads that belong to the restricted forums... i have asked some of the trusted members about this issue but they say that they haven't seen any thread or any 'no permission message'

anyone knows whats going on....?

Have you given them a specific link to look at and see if they can see it? Have you tried creating a test user that is in the same usergroups as these members and seeing if you can see those forums?

And there is a difference between hidden and restricted. Hidden means if you have the url, you can find it. Restricted means you need permission to be in it.

they are hidden too and no i haven't given any url of that forum to restricted members...

Have you checked to see if they are subscribed to the forums? they will get notifications and urls sent to them.

Make a test user with the exact same primary and secondary usergroups as one of the users you suspect has access to a restricted forum and see what you can see.
