Optimzing image/css

I noticed that the front page of my forums and possibly other pages takes 240kb to load the page where as other sites only have around 80kb. This is causing lag spikes on my forum and i was wondering if there are any professional that can help me otpimize image/css. I am willing to pay as well pm me.
