Gallery of attachments?
 

I've had a good search in the 4.x mod forums but can't seem to find anything obvious...

My board has been running for 8 years now and I've always allowed attachments. Most of the attachments are images. There is no obvious way I'm aware of to allow users to browse and view those attachments other than stumbling across them as and where they are posted in threads.

Is there anything baked in, or a mod, that will allow a gallery of these attachments to be perused. I'm not sure what other features would be needed...

- search by user and/or date range perhaps.
- allow attachments to be tagged with searchable keywords would also be useful.

Apologies if I'm missing something blindingly obvious to allow this.

I've never seen a mod that shows a gallery of attachments. I've seen ones for album image galleries (I think). I guess you could create a mod using something like that as a base.

That's strange. Is my site particularly unique? I have 5.19gb of attachments, most of them images. There's a lot of history there that is largely locked away currently.

This would be a great mod. I have a moderator on my forum that manually adds each attachment to our photo gallery. Having it done automatically would be a godsend.

I ran a thumbnail rebuild last night and found I have well over 20,000 images. I'm not adding them manually to anything!

Great idea for a mod. Not sure if you've done it yet, but you can place a request in the 'paid services' forum or the 'unpaid mods forum' and see if someone will pick up the idea and run with it.

A long time ago there was an attachments gallery. IIRC its in the graveyard now.
I would much like to have an attachment gallery. Especially if attachments can be sorted by file type. (video, images, documents, etc)
