not happy with vbulletin.org support

I get sent over here from the .com version only to find people sending me everywhere else, "oh ask this person" "oh go here" "go there" its not right. You would think there would be more people on here helping but i see now why my friend was telling me dont even try there forum support.

I have spent 5 hours waiting for one answer,,,,,,

Which folder do i upload iTrader to when i am FTP'ing?

thats it.

Bad support and im sure this will get closed because someone feels like it and that is not a true forum.

Thats the downside of downloading a free and unsupported addon. Officially there is no support at all. This is stated at the top of the thread you downloaded it from.
Its not a paid product, and you are dependent upon the help of other users.

You made two different threads with the same question, and didn't even post in the release thread for the mod in question? Your question was posted about an hour ago, and since you didn't receive an answer within that time.. it's bad support? Really? No one is required to help you with modifications. vBulletin.com is all about the stock software, they will never support modifications.

Anyway, upload the contents of the "upload_this" folder to your forum root. Eg: /home/username/public_html/forums

Then login to the Admin CP, on the left-hand side look for "Plugins & Products", click to expand then click on "Product Manager". On the right-hand side, you should see a link for "[Add/Import Product]" - click on that link. Then, click on "Browse", find the "product-itrader.xml" file on your computer and then upload.

Help for modifications is only given in the thread you got the modification from. Period. Help is not instant. We have real lives and real families AND we are volunteers - everyone from the developers to the staff.

There is NO official support for any modification - its entirely voluntary by the coder in question.

Things are devided at vb. All vb core related questions should be asked at vb.com and all customizing questions here.

Instead of waiting around for 5 hours for an answer, which is a very short time btw, have you considered doing a little more searching and less whining and complaining like a spoiled child. Oh I have waited 5 hours for a reply, why is the support so bad here and rubish like that? It is very annoying and irritating.

P.s. Just fyi, everyone that offers support here, be staff or helpful community members, do so at their time and dime. So start by helping yourself first and then expect others to help you.

Most modifications include a README.txt or README.html etc you can view after downloading, some on the other hand have the info in the description. Any and I repeat ANY modification using a url such as www.yoursite.com/mymod.php will have files to upload (unless utilizing misc.php etc etc). This information is something you must read through and interpret before installing otherwise you feel as you did when you originally posted and we don't want anyone feeling frustration however you must keep your temperament savvy and ask the right way for support... we don't bite dogs with bigger barks that's for sure but we might bark back :D.

I looked at this because I didn't believe it myself but as it turns out iTrader has no readme or install instructions, nor are there any in the mod post. I can only conclude "vbenhancer" was only interested in sharing the mod with people who were already experienced with mod installs. Personally I would take that as a sign to avoid the mod if at all possible.

4- i'm not discussing the releases on this forum, only releasing them. if you have any question, suggestion, request, you are invited to visit my official site.
Given that the site he guides you to for support doesn't even exist I would avoid the product like the plague.

You know, speaking of iTrader...

If I remember right, I did ask vbenhancer for permission to carry on iTrader for the 3.8 series with improvements, bug fixes, documentation, etc but I never heard back. It has been a couple months now I think.
