How to let the googlebot see pictures?
 

I have disabled the viewing of pictures for guests.
But now i found that there are hardly no images found that belong to the forum on google.
There are over 400Mb of attachments on my forum!

So how can i make that the google bot does see the pictures?

You can either let all guests see it, or not let guests see it. You dont want to get busted for content cloaking and have your forum removed from the search engines.

You can try adding ALT tags. alt tags let google know what your picture contains.

@pre won't make the slightest bit of difference if Google can't see the image in the first place

@stefan Google bot is treated as a guest as such only sees what they see

I suppose that if it works, it might take some time before the photo's show up at google.
I will update this threat if i know if it works or not.

I would very much not recomend any addon that allows for possible content cloaking.

Somehow I can't change it back to let guests see the thumbnails and download attachments!

What i have done is this:
AdminCP --> Usergroups --> Usergroup Permissions --> [Edit] Unregistered / Not Logged In
Use Usergroup Default Permissions -- Yes -- Saved!
I got the message:
Deleted forum permissions sucsesfully

AdminCP --> Usergroups --> Usergroup Manager --> Unregistered / Not Logged In --> Edit
Forum Viewing Permissions
Can Download Attachments -- Yes
Can See Thumbnails -- Yes
Saved!

Now the group is back to original and has the color of: Standard: Using default usergroup permissions

What am I doing wrong, or what do I forget?
When im not logged in i still can't see the thumbnails, and when i click on the name of the image, i get the error message:
You are not logged in or do not have the rights to ..............

Now help is realy needed!
