User DB Sync Across Multiple Sites

Does something like this still exist? What's the status for vb3.5+ versus vb4?

I know there's the one from IB but it seems abandoned...

I'm currently sitting on a product I'm debating on finalizing that does this, so any feedback would be much appreciated.
