Can't stop moderation on new accounts

To start this post off, I haven't installed any plug ins or anything of that sort yet. So it's nothing like that causing it (i've looked at all the plugins also).

I've looked all over the options and can't find any way to stop the moderation.

I have all the moderate post/thread options selected to No.
I have the Follow Forum Moderation Rules set to Yes.

I still can't stop new users from having their threads/posts added to the moderation queue.

Is there a setting that I do not know about? Some kind of spam block? Please someone help me. Thanks in advance.

You say you have the Follow Forum Moderation Rules set to "Yes." Is this for BOTH your "Registered Users" usergroup AND on your Forum permissions?

To be honest, that's the ONLY thing I can think of, if you've got no plugins installed. :<

I have the same problem and it's driving me nuts. permissions really needs a workover so its easier to use. vBulletin's system is very cumbersome and lot of work to finally get it right.

Anyway, I have ALL forum groups where the usergroup has access set to NO on follow moderation rules.

For the groups, except banned ones, I have moderation turned off in group permisisons. Need a quick fix on this, as it, it appears to be a buggy system.

I traced my problem to the default vBulletin spam management plug-in. I had been using Akismet and apparently it raised a LOT of false positives and sent posts into moderation. It didn't do it on all members of any one group and was not limited to any single forum, so I began turning mods off one by one until I traced it to the default spam management plugin. This thing needs to be redone. There should be a setting in there that is yes or no to send suspected spam posts into moderation. At the very minimum, it should be in the settings page that explains what happens to suspected spam posts.
