Sharing on Facebook : Title of thread not showing.
 

Ive tried everything I could before posting. Whenever I copy a link from my forum to facebook to share it the Title of the thread does not display.

I tried the facebook url linter several times as well but no luck. Ive setup the facebook platform and everyhting else works including the og: property Image etc.

I also realised that it could be the Spider not having access. So I installed the spider access mod from vbulletin.org along with the latest spiders.xml from here and set up everything as well.

Strangely enough Blog posts seem to work fine. And the title displays fine on facebook. The spider displays on whos online with the blog location when I lint the url via facebook.

But If I input a forum thread in the Url Linter it shows the title as my Main forum title and not the thread name. Also in the Who' Online the Facebook Spider is pointing to an Unknown Location.

Any ideas what could be going on?

I tried adding the og : tittle property manually as well <meta property="og:title" content="{vb:raw thread.title}"/> while that clears the error on facebook : "Required Property Missing og:title is required" it comes up blank and shows no title at all.

Ok after much digging and frustration I found out that it was actually Valters VSA Advanced Forum Rules plugin that was not letting spiders into the thread but rather showing the accept rules page.

The workaround is to uncheck the Users Must Accept Rules to : View Forums | View Threads or set the unregistered group in the excluded list it seems to work.
